Round of 16Winner of Group C — Third place Groups D/E/FManchester City StadiumTime to be announcedHow to read the calendar
Group fixtures use labels such as A1 and A2. The letter identifies the finals group; the number is the team’s position in that group’s schedule. It is not a seeding pot, a finishing position or a prediction about which country will qualify.
Reading knockout fixtures
Some opponents can be described in advance, such as the winner of Group A or the runner-up in Group C. A third-placed qualifier can come from several possible groups; its actual assignment depends on the set of groups supplying the four best third-placed teams. A slash-separated list of groups is a rule, not a list of alternative countries.
Dates are not kick-off times
A match can have a confirmed date while its starting time remains unknown. “Time to be announced” means exactly that. The final has a published time; most other individual kick-offs are due after the final tournament draw. Do not read an all-day calendar entry as a midnight start.
Two different competitions in the calendar
This page covers the finals. The qualifying campaign has a separate fixture list, with its own groups, venues and matchdays. Switching between them should never merge qualification matches into the 51-match finals schedule.
Find the part of the schedule that matters to you
Use a city filter for a trip that can include more than one ground. Use a stadium filter for a visit tied to a particular venue. A stage filter then separates group fixtures from knockout dates. London is the clearest reason to keep both city and stadium controls: its two grounds have different programmes.
A team filter becomes useful once the final draw has resolved the group positions. Before that, a group label still lets you follow a possible route. Keep the stage in view when reading later rounds, because a match involving a group winner is part of the knockout bracket rather than another game in that group.
A fixture changes in steps
The date and stadium can be settled before the opponents or starting time. The final draw resolves group positions; the group results resolve the first knockout participants; each knockout result supplies a later opponent. These are separate changes to the same fixture.
A saved link continues to refer to that match as those details develop. Check the latest page before travelling, especially when an itinerary depends on an evening connection. For a calendar subscription, the calendar application controls when the updated entry is fetched.
Questions and answers
Can I see my own time zone?
When a confirmed kick-off exists, the time-zone control can convert it for you. A date-only fixture stays date-only.
Will the match URLs change when teams are known?
Each fixture keeps its permanent page. The opponent names and page title can change without moving the URL.
Can I save the schedule?
The calendar page provides the current ICS download and a print view. A subscription can receive updates when your calendar application refreshes it.
