Team history
Their strongest early EURO qualifying campaign came on the road to the 2012 tournament, when they finished third in their group.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan became the outstanding attacking figure of that era, alongside a generation that made Armenia a difficult opponent for more established teams. The side later won their 2020/21 Nations League group and earned promotion to League B. A first appearance at a senior EURO or World Cup finals remains a separate milestone to achieve.
