Team history
Czechia reached the EURO 1996 final, with Karel Poborský’s famous chip against Portugal among the defining moments before defeat by Germany. Another semi-final followed in 2004.
Czechoslovakia won EURO 1976 and reached the World Cup finals in 1934 and 1962. Josef Masopust represents that joint predecessor team; Pavel Nedvěd and Petr Čech are central figures in the independent Czech side’s history.
